Leave the rulers and rigid patterns behind and discover the joy of improvisational quilting! In this creative, hands-on workshop, Jean will guide students through making a collection of bold and playful improv blocks, including liberated stars, whimsical trees, and charming houses.
Using improvisational piecing techniques, you’ll learn how to work more intuitively, embrace creativity, and create blocks that reflect your own unique style. Throughout the day, students can expect to make approximately 10–20 blocks, providing the foundation for a quilt that can be finished in a size and layout of their choosing.
Whether you’re looking to loosen up your piecing, spark new ideas, or simply enjoy a fun day of creative exploration, this workshop will help you build confidence in making design decisions and create quilts that are truly your own.
You’ll leave with a stack of finished blocks, new improvisational quilting skills, and plenty of inspiration for future projects.
Machines and lunch will be provided for all participants.
